History
The D.R.E.A.M. Pro-Am league was founded and facilitated by one of the captains for the Steel City Yellow Jackets, Gilmore Cummings.
Gilmore Cummings was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He grew up in Northview Heights, one of the toughest neighborhoods in the City of Pittsburgh. Gilmore played basketball for Oliver High School. His collegiate career began at Columbus State and he transferred to Edinboro University to finish out his college career. He has played overseas in Germany as well. Gilmore has been with the Steel City Yellow Jackets since its inception in 2013 and has been a team captain for three years. During the 2017-2018 season he helped the team win the Chesapeake Regional Championship and led the team to the Final 8. He is also a 2018 ABA All Star. Gilmore has a passion for working with children and currently works for A Giving Heart as the Events Director. For the past two years he has ran Hoops at Heart, a summer basketball camp for children of all ages and this year has worked during the summer camp. Utilizing his love for basketball and children, Gilmore serves as a mentor and coach for youth basketball players. Mr. Cummings has extended the opportunity for college and professional basketball players to work out, be competitive and compete in a safe environment. |
